What we are looking for: Senior Software Engineer / Machine Learning and Data Mining

In this position, you will manage a range of classification and optimization challenges to include payment fraud, collaborative filtering, recommendations, spam detection, click-through rate prediction, click-fraud detection, search ranking, and text/sentiment classification.

What you will be doing

  • Developing highly-scalable classifiers and tools leveraging machine learning, data regression, and rules-based models.
  • Analyzing disparate data sources to find previously-obfuscated patterns.
  • Rapidly analyzing, solving and fixing problems.

Your background

  • B.S. Computer Science. M.S. or Ph.D. preferred
  • 5+ years experience within e-commerce, social media and/or financial services industry developing machine learning, classification, and information retrieval algorithms
  • Experience with fraud prevention engineering and llarge-scale data mining for analytics.
  • Proven ability to translate insights into business recommendations
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and disciplined approach to testing and code quality
  • Expert knowledge developing and debugging in object oriented languages including Java and C++
  • Experience with Hadoop, HBase, Pig, and similiar technologies related to large-scale data processing
  • Experience with scripting languages like Perl, Python, PHP, Ruby, and shell scripts.
