You'll be extending and maintaining Etsy's capabilities and features as well as streamlining and re-factoring our current system. Our site is growing by leaps and bounds; therefore, candidates should thrive in dynamic environments where development is fast and requirements are variable.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• 7+ years development experience with very strong object-oriented background in languages such as Java, Python, PHP, Ruby; experience with Flash a plus
• Strong architectural sensibilities
• Solid experience with Agile development methodologies
• Deep experience with web applications
• Experience working in AI/machine learning environments; Bayesian network experience, a plus
• Experience working in a Unix environment and familiarity with revision control systems like Subversion
• Experience with lighttpd, Postgres, MySQL, memcached, and squid environments a plus
• Ability to mentor and develop others
